Dan Hartig
Music Educator
Dan Hartig is the Music Coordinator at the Canadian International School (CIS) in Singapore, where he oversees a wide range of music performance programs for nearly 3,000 students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. With a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance from the University of the Arts and a Master's degree in Music Education from Columbia University, he has nine years of experience teaching IB music, including three years at CIS. Before joining CIS, he launched and developed the IB music program at Pine Street School in New York City, directing school performances and fostering a vibrant music community.
A seasoned guitarist, Dan toured extensively across the United States with pop, rock, and jazz bands. He continues to perform actively as a solo guitarist, vocalist, and lead guitarist for pop/rock bands. His deep connections in the music industry began as a featured guitarist and songwriter at the NAMM show in Los Angeles and other major festivals. Dan loves bringing his contemporary music knowledge, songwriting, and music technology skills into the classroom, inspiring students to explore and create their own musical paths.
